A Heart Full of Gratitude: “Keeping Kids Safe Online” Workshop at Mt. Zion AME Church

What an incredible day at Mt. Zion AME Church! As Dr. Myava Clark reflects on CASEN’s “Keeping Kids Safe Online” workshop, her heart was overflowing with gratitude and joy.

When Pastor Rev. Carlos D. Bounds and the Mt. Zion family opened their doors to Dr. Clark and her son, Chris Clark Jr., on July 26th, they weren’t just hosting an event – they were making a powerful statement about their commitment to protecting their community’s children. The trust they placed in CASEN (Collaborative Advancement for Social-Emotional Needs) LLC to work with their precious babies is something Chris and Dr. Clark don’t take lightly.

More Than Just a Workshop

Chris said, “Walking into that room and seeing parents, children, teens, and church members gathered together united with one common goal – was truly moving. This wasn’t just about learning internet safety tips; it was about creating a safer digital world for our children, together.

The energy in the room was palpable as we covered:

  • How to deal with online hate
  • What to do if someone crosses the line
  • How to protect your space and your peace
  • And how to speak up with confidence

But what struck Dr. Clark the most was watching the intergenerational conversations happening. Grandparents asking questions alongside teenagers, parents learning right beside their children – this is exactly the kind of family action plan for digital safety that our communities need.

The CASEN Mission Continues

Moments like these remind Dr. Clark why she and Chris are so passionate about the CASEN platform. Every workshop, every conversation, every “aha moment” they witness reinforces their belief that when communities come together, they can create real change.

The photos from that day tell the story better than words ever could – faces filled with determination, families united in purpose, and a church community that truly embodies what it means to protect and nurture their young people.

Looking Forward

To everyone reading this: if you have children or tweens who could benefit from learning about internet safety and anti-bullying strategies, please reach out to the CASEN team in the comments below. Chris and Dr. Clark are actively looking for more opportunities to bring CASEN Outreach to communities just like yours.

Because here’s the truth – children are navigating an increasingly complex digital world, and they shouldn’t have to do it alone. Together, you and CASEN can equip them with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to stay safe online while still enjoying all the wonderful opportunities technology has to offer.

Dr. Clark and Chris, thank Reverend Bounds and Mt. Zion AME Church for trusting them with their children’s commitment to safety.
